Fannie L Tipton, 97, of Dupo, passed away at 1:19 AM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Oak Hill in Waterloo. She was born April 14, 1923 to Roy and Addie (Fowler) Townes in Oran, Missouri. She married Paul Tipton and he preceded her in death in October of 1989. Fannie worked as a nurse for many years at Shiner's Hospital for Children and St. Mary's Hospital until she retired. She was Baptist and attended the congregational Church in Dupo. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star in Belleville. She was a talented at craftwork and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting blankets for her grandchildren and reconditioning furniture. She liked traveling throughout Europe, including- Germany, Sweden and Paris (where she enjoyed the local wines) and different parts of the United States. She most enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and will be dearly missed. Surviving are her sons, Paul D. Tipton and wife Diana of Columbia and John L. Tipton and wife Vickie of Addieville; five grandchildren, Gregory (Norma) Tipton, Lisa (Andrew) Zehner, Laura (Marc) Suga, Katherine "Katie" (Anthony) Tipton-Dulle and John Christopher Tipton, eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Eloise Cooper. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. Pastor C.D. Rennicke, Pastor of Christian Grove Missionary Baptist will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and will be accepted at the funeral home.
