Lawlor History

The Lawlor Funeral Home, as it has been known since 1978, was established in 1937, as the Schmidt Funeral Home. This location has continually served the Columbia, IL, community for over 70 years.

During the past 30+ years, there have been several major additions and upgrades to our facility to reflect the growth of the community around us. More recent additions of a well-appointed lobby, to a spacious chapel, along with handicapped accessability, expanded parking, a relaxing coffee lounge steeped in local history, and even this web site are examples of our effort to meet/exceed the expectations of the families that we serve.
