Wilma G. Stellhorn

August 19, 1927 - March 27, 2022

Wilma G. Stellhorn, 94, of Red Bud. passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born August 19, 1927 in Randolph County to Elmer and Amelia Degener. She married Victor Stellhorn on May 13, 1944 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2004. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud and served on various committees. She was a hardworking woman who began her career at age fifteen babysitting. Next she worked five years as a LPN at St. Clements Hospital and then opened her own dress shop. She then worked at Wiegmans factory for 16 months. She got her real estate license and was a Real Estate Broker for 18 years. She bought houses, remodeled them and then sold them. She and her husband built their first house from the ground up. She lived a good life. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting dolls and going antiquing with friends and family. She had a passion for pink flowers and even germinated her own seeds for planting. Her flower gardens were gorgeous and she was an excellent cook who didn't need a recipe and could bake chocolate pies from scratch. she was talented at refurbishing furniture and took pride in her work. She will be dearly missed. Surviving are her daughters- Carol Jackson of East Prairie, MO, Carmin Kloth of Chester and Vicki Keller of St. Charles, MO, four grandchildren- Rachelle Johnson, Dana Byassee, Sahra Linnemann and Jared Kloth, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren plus one on the way, brother- Roger Degener of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter- Connie Stellhorn, grandchildren- Shane Kloth and Eric Nagel, sister- Evelyn Matteson, and brothers- Ardell and Lee Degener. The visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud. The funeral service will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday March 31, 2022, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud. Rev. Mark Nebel will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
