Red Bud- Silvana Marina Asher, 88, of Red Bud, passed away at 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Care Center. Silvana was born October 19, 1933, in Genova, Italy to Silvio and Silvia (Beltramini) Marinschegg of Trieste, Italy and grew up with her brother Arturo Marinschegg (Deceased) of Trieste, Italy. Following World War II Silvana worked as a secretary for The United Kingdom during the occupation of Italy. While serving as a secretary she had tea with Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery. Silvana married Dellmer C. Asher on September 2, 1954, in Trieste, Italy. Following their marriage they moved to Red Bud, Illinois. Silvana was catholic and a stay-at-home Mother raising Audrey (Jerome) Asher-Krack and Serena (Deceased) (Reggie) Asher-Hicks both of Red Bud, she had multiple grandchildren including- Eric (Heather) Krack of Breese, Phillip Hicks, of Red Bud, Adam (Jennifer) Krack of Smithton, Monica (Dallas) Beaty of Red Bud. Silvana also had multiple great grandchildren- Jillian and Jackson Krack of Breese, Preston, Penelope and Charli Krack of Smithton, Amelia and Juliet Beaty of Red Bud, brother-in-law- Kenneth Bowlin of Chester and many nieces and nephews. Dellmer and Silvana owned D.A. Antiques on South Main Street in Red Bud. They specialized in Coke products, lunch boxes, pedal cars, Beatles memorabilia and dolls. Silvana often went to auctions where they would purchase items for their shop and they owned many American Motor Company (AMC) vehicles. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud. Fr. Dennis Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at Red Bud City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM until time of service, Thursday, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
