Roderick Ian Groetecke, 64 years old of Red Bud, IL., passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. He was born March 5, 1957 in East St. Louis, IL. Roderick had worked for Gilster Mary Lee in Chester, IL. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie). He was a fan of the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Sabres. Surviving are his wife Marian Groetecke, his daughter, Stephanie (Nicholas) Falkenhein, his soon to be grandchild, Clara, his brother & sister-in-laws, Norma Buch, Carol (Don) Crabill, Gerald (Maggie) Buch, Lorna (Keith) Kinzel, Roger (Carol) Buch, Donald (Chris) Buch, Darrell Buch, David Buch & Dave Boyer, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Jean Groetecke, his brothers, Howard Groetecke & Donald Groetecke, his sister, Marion Boyer, his father & mother-in-law, Erwin & Irene Buch, his brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Connie Buch. Visitation will be on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie) and on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), with Pastor Scott Hojnacki, officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
