Jack was a founding member of the Kaskaskia Group Illinois Sierra Club. His advocacy and work has created this opportunity for all of us to continue his work. His life work continues on in us and we hope to honor his memory in all we do.
When I first became aquainted with Jack, he was protesting the construction of the prairie state generating station by marching in front of the Washington county courthouse. My thoughts were what a brave man he is. This and his other conservation efforts changed my life forever…….
Jack inspired us to make a difference…leave the world a better place as this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived — that is to have succeeded.”
