George "Buddy" W. Baur

June 8, 1940 - April 23, 2022

George "Buddy" W. Baur, Jr., 81, of Millstadt, passed away at 9:25 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. George was born June 8, 1940, in East St. Louis, IL to George Walter and Alice (Cisco) Baur, Sr. He married Gloria Brochetto on March 30, 1991 in Millstadt. He began his career as a BoilerMaker but retired as self-employed owner of Plas-Co in Millstadt. He began Plas-Co (custom cabinetry and wood working) in 1985 and worked until his retirement in 2002. In addition to being a talented woodworker, he enjoyed golfing with his buddies, fishing with his wife and buddies for whatever was biting and watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He couldn't tell a lie and had an ornery side and he enjoyed pulling pranks and showcasing his sense of humor whenever he could. He was a compassionate lover of all animals big and small and could often be found relaxing on his back porch watching birds and wildlife. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with his wife and family. He will be dearly missed. Surviving are his beloved wife, Gloria Baur of Millstadt, son- George "Trey" W. Baur, III, of Belleville, daughters-Gina Mathews of Belleville, Jami McNall and husband Kevin of Arnold, MO and Lora Anzalone and husband Tony of Webster Groves, MO, six grandchildren- John and Heather Mathews, Jordan and Cohen McNall and Ciro and Frankie Anzalone, one great-grandson- Tristan Mathews, sister- Martha Powers and husband Mick, and sister-in-law, Jennie Baur along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother- Jimmy Baur and sisters- Nancy Stephens and Katherine "Mickey" Dorman. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service, Friday at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt. The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt. Pastor Darrell Jones will officiate.
