David B. Stratmann's Obituary
David B. Stratmann, 57, of East Carondelet, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home.
David was born on November 9, 1963 in East St. Louis to Henry G. and Helen (Schrader) Stratmann.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Louis University he worked many years as an accountant with his father in the family’s accounting business.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo. He liked working alongside his father restoring Studebaker cars. He was a talented handyman who worked at maintaining the family’s property. He enjoyed reading in his spare time.
Survivors include his brother- Dr. Henry G. Stratmann, Jr and wife Dr. Maryellen Amato of Springfield, MO, sister- Deborah Collins (late husband Kenneth) of Licking, MO, four nephews- Henry G. Stratmann, III, Joseph Stratmann, Dr. Jared Collins (wife Jessica) and Dr. Brett Collins, PhD., great nephew and niece; Landon and Madelyn Collins, aunts- Marilyn Becker of Belleville and Millie Stratmann of Worden as well as many cousins.
He entered eternal life with his beloved mother- Helen. He was preceded in death by his father and many cherished members of the Schrader and Stratmann families.
A private dual funeral mass for David and Helen will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo. Fr. Osang Idagbo will officiate. A private burial for Helen will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery and David will be inurned at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fairview Heights. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo.
